Several practical, effective, and safe means improve a person's probability of successfully preventing or treating acute COVID-19 and post COVID issues (aka "Long COVID").

PREVENTION

It appears likely that COVID-19 ... and colds, flu and RSV ... pandemic spread could have been (and still could be) stopped with readily-available, non-prescription, safe, inexpensive antiviral nasal spray and gargles as prevention ... and as part of early treatment.

Research and experience support this. Also logic … eliminate the virus in nose/mouth before it replicates sufficiently to move to the rest of the body and cause COVID-19.

The incubation period is the time it takes for an infection to develop after a person has been exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The incubation period ends when the first signs or symptoms of the COVID-19 appear. TREATMENT

In the event of infection by SARS-CoV-2 and of COVID-19 symptoms, several potential treatment protocols are available.

Combinations of various repurposed medications and certain supplements have apparent effectiveness for prevention and treatment of COVID-19 ... including "breakthrough" COVID-19 for those vaccinated. These medications also have a long and excellent safety record in humans and are very low cost to produce.

The efficacy of these repurposed medications is supported by results from controlled clinical trials, including randomized and double-blinded trials. Analysis of these trials finds statistically significant reductions in transmission, time to recovery, hospitalization, and death.

Long COVID (PASC) is complex and can be debilitating ... often affecting several different parts of the body, changing over time and unique for each individual. Medical professionals currently are challenged with how best to treat Long COVID for each patient. Some researchers believe that Long COVID is a result of persistent long-term SARS-CoV2 virus (detectable only with post-mortem autopsy, but not with standard PCR testing) and ongoing damage by the virus and viral fragments.

If you have Long COVID, you likely will have to try various treatments and behaviors to determine what best helps you specifically at different points in your Long COVID progression. Some people continue to suffer from these issues for more than 3 years.

Research suggests that persistent viral antigens, latent herpes virus reactivation and chronic inflammation may all contribute to long COVID. The researchers also point out that the decreased levels of morning cortisol warrant further investigation, given its central role in homeostatic and stress responses.
